What is Qasr Al Watan?

• Qasr Al Watan is the Presidential Palace of the United Arab Emirates at the western end of Abu Dhabi's Corniche.
• Although it remains a working presidential palace used for official state occasions, much of the building is open to visitors, allowing them to explore its magnificent halls, exhibitions and gardens.
• Rather than being a royal residence, Qasr Al Watan was designed as a cultural landmark that shows the history, governance, traditions and craftsmanship of the UAE.
• Inside you'll see enormous marble halls, priceless gifts presented by world leaders, a vast library, interactive exhibitions and beautifully landscaped gardens.

About Qasr Al Watan Palace

The palace was only completed in 2017, so it is modern. It was opened to the public in 2019 and it has quickly become a popular attraction.

The architecture reflects traditional Arabian design which has then been blended with contemporary elements, giving it the modern aspect with a traditional feel. The exterior is white granite and limestone, which symbolises purity and peace and the building also features intricate details that are  inspired by Islamic geometrical patterns. The palace's dome is one of the largest in the world adding more grandeur to the building.

Palace Light and Sound Show

If you visit in the evening you can enjoy a light and sound show called "Palace in Motion." The show uses the palace’s façade as a canvas and narrates the story of the UAE’s past, present, and future through amazing visuals and immersive sound.

Gardens and Surroundings

The palace is surrounded by beautifully landscaped gardens that are perfect for a leisurely walk. They feature water fountains, sculptures, and seating areas where you can sit, relax and take in your surroundings.
