About Paris Zoological Park
The zoo's five biozones have been created as natural and spacious environments for the animals and focus on replicating natural habitats, so the animals can thrive comfortably.
Visitors know when they are approaching the zoo as they can see the 65-metre tall artificial mini-mountain that has become a famous symbol of the zoo.
The five biozones:
- Africa Biozone: Home to giraffes, big cats, zebras, rhinos and meerkats. This is the biggest zone at the zoo.
- Amazon-Guyana Biozone: A tropical biozone with plants, flowers, and animals. Visitors can see ibis, jaguars, reptiles including green anaconda, colourful birds including macaw, manatee, giant anteaters, and tapir.
- Europe Biozone: In this section visitors can find glouton (wolverine), lynx, wolves, otters, and turtles.
- Madagascar Biozone: Home to the famous lemurs, as well as fossa, frogs, tortoise and various other reptiles.
- Patagonia Biozone: Visitors can watch the zoo's playful seals, pumas, sea lions, penguins and more.
The zoo is home to a diverse collection of animals from around the world, including mammals, birds, reptiles, and amphibians.
It is also actively involved in various conservation efforts, including breeding programs for endangered species, research projects, and education initiatives aimed at raising awareness about conservation issues.
