The Montjuïc Cable Car (Telefèric de Montjuïc) is a fun way of getting to Montjuïc hill. The cable car ride offers panoramic views on route as it rises up to a height of 84.5 metres above the city.

- The Upward Journey: The Montjuïc Cable Car (Telefèric de Montjuïc) starts at 'Parc de Montjuïc' and it ends at 'Castell de Montjuïc' which is where you will find the historic Montjuïc Castle.
- The starting station for Montjuic Cable Car is NOT the Cable Car Station at Barceloneta beach - that is a separate cable car system (Barcelona Port Cable Car). However, that cable car on Barceloneta beach can be used to get to the starting point for the Montjuïc Cable Car as the top station for the beach cable car stops just a few minutes from the Parc de Montjuïc stop. - The Downward Journey: The journey down is slightly different - it starts at 'Castell de Montjuïc' but it also stops at 'Mirador de l’Alcalde' on the way down (not on the way up). - Modernised: It was modernised between 2004 and 2007. It went through a complete overhaul to increase its capacity and also replaced the original open cars with 55 new closed cabins!
- Scenic Views: The cable car ride offers amazing panoramic views of Barcelona. You can see landmarks including the Sagrada Família, the Olympic Stadium, and the Mediterranean Sea.
- Elevation Gain: The cable car climbs a vertical distance of approximately 84.55 meters from the base to Montjuïc Castle.
